I would categorize this talk as: motivational, inspirational, metaphysical, self- esteem, creativity.
Generally speaking, I use some material from the book Walk This Way. I tell of my experience with polio when I was seven; introduce people of significance in my life; share some of the mystical experiences I have had in nature; and I speak to the teachings of Native American spirituality.
The underlying theme of the talk though is to encourage people to lighten up... to approach life from a higher, lighter perspective. To quote one of my teachers, "All life is is mind over matter; if you don't mind, it don't matter. And let me add to that," he continued. "There is nothing new under the Sun. All of creation is already complete. All the undiscovered inventions, scientific discoveries, and arts of the future already exist in mind, and are just waiting to be revealed. All that matters is how you see it. And how you see it is based upon where your mind is. It's done unto you, as you believe. So, what do you believe-especially about yourself? In truth, that is really all that matters. And if you are not happy with the way things are going, my boy, there is only one thing you really need to change your mind."
